Description
Looking to swap for a vw t5 or vw camper, no t25's please.
To cut along story short a massive financial downturn, a 2yr old and a 4 month old baby has prompted me to consider swapping my rx7 as it's getting little use and I'm not likely to be using it in the future Its my second rx7, as I stupidly sold the first and immediately wished i hadn't, im also a member of fd-uk so alot of the parts where sourced from fellow club members.
I've owned it for nearly 3yrs and I rescued it from someone's garden where it had been sat for 8yrs. It was fully rebuilt back in 2007 by the previous owner then the clutch gave up and for some unknown reason he parked it up and there it sat until I got it.
Basically I gave it a full fluid change, Drained and replaced the 8yr old fuel that was still in it Changed oil and filters, new plugs, new fuel and up it started with no issues.
i put a new clutch in, New brakes, exhaust, bilstein suspension and lots of other stuff and stuck it in for an Mot and it passed with no advisories.
From that moment it was used daily as a rolling resto while I continued to do bits and bobs to it.
Next came the respray, it's the original vintage red with 20% matting agent to give it more of a silk.
Its not perfect and does have a few blemishes but jts certainly not crap.
it had a couple of niggly engine issues that were sorted by Steve rivett, the well renouned rx7 engine builder.
other than that it has been trouble free motoring.
Other than a greedy de-limiter, hks mushroom filters and an arc smic, the engine is standard. The exhaust still has the cat.
The bilstein suspension and apex springs lower it by about 40mm.
The skirts are genuine factory fit mazda items as are the 16" alloys.
There are only 3 very small things that you may want to do to it and they are.
Fit a new heater matrix as I had to bypass it the night before jap show last year.
Fit a new washer bottle as it's broken so no washers but only comes out on dry sunny days so not an issue for me, and some of the the interior plastics are broken ie door plastics.
Like I said only small and do not effect the driving experience There's probably more I've missed so feel free to ask me anything else.
Recently passed its mot so has as near as makes no difference to 12 months mot.
Starts on the button every time even with a near flat battery.
Sorry for babbling on but I just want to be as honest as possible The pics are in order from when I got it until how it is now
More pics available on request
Thanks for taking the time to read/look.
