Assistant Centre Manager Wanted
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Covent Garden Community Centre who are looking to appoint an assistant manager to assist in the running of events and evening functions, ensuring room & facilities hire and the administrative and communication systems are fully effective.
The post will suit an energetic and approachable individual that has a hands-on, can do attitude as well as excellent customer service skills. You will be a self starter who will share the managers vision to drive the Community Centre through a period of both change and growth. The role involves the setting up and breaking down of rooms for events so is quite physically demanding.
Bar management experience as well as being a personal licence holder is essential. In addition you will need to be a food hygiene certificate holder.
As an ambassador for the community centre you will be a visible presence helping to promote the centre and it’s facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
? Be directly responsible for the management of the bar, kitchen and community areas of the centre. Supervise evening staff.
? Manage the setting up of events as well as the successful running of events.
? Support the manager in marketing, promotion and business building.
? Deliver & develop all social media including facebook & twitter
? Responsible for centre security
Essential skills
Day to day operations:
? excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to work confidently in a wide range of situations with clients, customers and local residents
? time management and the ability to prioritise tasks and delegate appropriately
? able to set and achieve robust but realistic targets
? numerate and confident in dealing with financial data
? ability to work in a very busy environment
? ability to be sensitive to the needs of users & clients
? ability to use social media to best effect
? website maintenance an advantage
? Ensuring that the building is clean and tidy
? Liaising & supervision of the bar staff and agreeing specific duties
? Liaising with building users to ensure that their requirements are met, and advising them of policies and procedures which may impact on their use of the building

Hours of work will be 40pw (Predominantly evening)
Salary £22k pa
